Summer
Mountain Leader Award
ML
Training
Will arguably be one of the most educational mountain training courses you
will ever experience. The award was set up in 1964 and since then the syllabus
has developed to cope with modern day needs of the mountain leader.
Our course runs over six consecutive days which includes a combined day and
evening training programme.
The course has well developed training materials and resources and all candidates
have access to those resources during the course and via our own climbmts members
log in site. The course resources we provide are unique to climbmts course
candidates.
For an over view of a typical ML training week please click the skill feature
tab below, in particular it contains an article by Simon Ingram Deputy Editor
of Trail Magazine and ML candidate.
The scheme syllabus is located in the candidate logbook.
To access the training course
you must first register with one of the home
nation boards.
You will receive a unique candidate reference number, registration date and
scheme logbook. Once you have this information and have the relevant mountain
walking experience which is a minimum of 20 quality mountain days we can process
your booking for the training course.
