bring to the course all equipment items listed below.
Where you see an * equipment is provided by climbmts
however, if you have all the equipment listed with
an * then please bring with you. We encourage candidates
to use their own kit.
3 season hillwalking boots and gaiters
Trekking poles
40 to 50 litre rucksack compression strap style with
waterproof liner, recommend lightweight dry bags
Hydration,
either flask or water bottle / bladder
OS Maps 1 50:000 sheet 51 & 42
Compass (recommend Silva type 4)
Ortlieb map cover

30m, 9mm emergency rope *

Pan, mug, penknife and spoon
Lightweight sleeping bag recommend 2-3 season down

Sleeping mat, (recommend three quarter length super
light thermarest)
With practise all items will fit into
a 50 litre alpinist style compression strap rucksack.
You
may have items you want to bring with you which are
not listed above, if in doubt please bring with
you.
Your course is completely self catering, please
ensure you have enough food to cater your needs for
the entire
6 day course including the overnight camp.
Please remember
to bring a dish towel, bath towel and wash kit and
personal clothing for wearing indoors,
especially soft shoes for travelling.
