Winter Mountain Leader Award

WML Training
The purpose of the WML scheme is to provide training and assessment in the skills and techniques
necessary to lead walking parties in the mountains of the UK under winter conditions. The scheme
excludes roped climbing on technical terrain.
The demands made on the leader in winter are much greater than summer therefore, the summer mountain leader award is a prerequisite qualification.
