Course Format

For the 10th year running, Tiso and top instructors at Climbmts have presented an unbeatable Mountain Skills programme of short one day courses.

Since Tiso launched it’s Mountain Skills courses in 2000, under the directorship of Mountaineering Instructor Stuart Johnston MIC their courses have been attended by
thousands ofmountain goer’s. Whether it’s your first time out, or you want to further develop your skills and experience our courses will help you learn new skills while
experiencing the splendour of Scotland’smountains through the guidance of our highly qualified mountain instructors and leaders.

Time and Place
All Tiso Mountain Skills Training courses (except dry tooling) begin at 1900 on the Friday evening at the nominated store. This session lasts 2 hours and consists of a course introduction and interactive skills workshop. The following day we head for the hills to experience a full days coaching from one of Stuart’s qualified teamof instructors. The Saturday (or Sunday) kicks off around 0900 and finishes at 1630.

Who can participate?
Anyone aged 18 years and over. No prior experience is necessary for any of our courses however, a reasonable level of aerobic fitness is definitely recommended. If you have any disability, special requirements or are concerned about the level of fitness required, please do not hesitate to contact us for advice.
