full time instructing and guiding in 1992.
He is co-author of two books, the Training Officer
for the Mountain Rescue Committee of Scotland
and an active Member of Tayside Mountain Rescue.

Di
Gilbert
If Di could
climb all year round in winter, she would.
She is passionate about Scotland
but not too fond of the midgies so has completed
new routes and first ascents
in Greenland.
Di has been a successful expedition leader
on numerous expeditions to Africa.
Her work
has also included being a Field Operations
Manager in Antarctica. Di does not have enough fingers and toes to count all the
Alpine trips.

Williams
A qualified
teacher of outdoor education and dedicated
mountaineering instructor,
Alex has trekked, climbed and travelled on
five continents. Partial to
clean rock, fat ice and dark chocolate.

Jon
Sanders
A
holder of the winter mountain leadership qualification
and is currently an aspirant mountaineering
instructor for the prestigious Mountaineering
Instructors Award (MIA). What he enjoys most
about the outdoors is instructing and coaching
mountaineering skills in mountains. Jon is
also an extreme kayaker and level 4 coach.
Jon is also a member of Tayside Mountain Rescue
team.

Lyle
is a member of a Scottish Mountain Rescue Team
and has spent the last 4 years visiting Search & Rescue
teams worldwide, researching land navigation
for his forthcoming publication: ‘Land
Navigation Masterclass’ He both lectures
and instructs advanced GPS to international
Search & Rescue teams and the Special Forces.
Fiona
Chappell
She
lives in Aviemore where she work as an Outdoor
Instructor
in summer and
winter. She enjoys hillwalking,mountaineering
and climbing all year round in Scotland. Fiona
has trekked in Nepal andmost summers are spent
in the Alps working as an International Mountain Leader and trekking
and climbing for pleasure.
Derek
Bain
Derek
has climbed all over the world but it is the
Scottishmountains and mountaineering
which is his passion. Over 20 years experience
ofmotivating, leading and looking
after people in the hills has translated into
a professional desire to teach hill skills
at all levels of participation.

Fiona
Poulter
For
the past 6 years Fiona has been devoted to
the mountains of Scotland. She has combined
her enthusiasm with her studies and is just
finishing a degree in Environmental Studies
and Outdoor Education. Her passion has compelled
her to complete all the munros and during this
period she has spent time in the Alps, Nepal
and Alaska but believes the mountains in Scotland
are hard to beat.
Fiona holds the summer mountain leadership qualification and is pursuing the
WML award.
Kieran
Thompson
Kieran
has been working as an Outdoor Instructor
in the West of Scotland for
the past 9 years. Getting out when there’s
snow on the hills is one of his favourite things, holding
the Winter Mountain Leader Award allows Kieran
to share this enthusiasm and knowledge with others.
