Rujkan is one of Europe’s premier ice climbing locations, its not only a good place for intro ice climbing, it offers a huge spread of climbing grades and venues which most are easily accessed. From the UK, fly to OSLO Torp followed by an onward journey by road. Flights not included in course cost. We do not provide food and travel / climbing insurance. You need 7 days for this course 1 day to travel their then 5 days on the ice and another day to travel home.

Equipment: All ropes and climbing protection provided. Additional equipment such as axes can be hired at a reasonable rate., A full kit list is provided at point of booking.

Experience Required: Our introductory courses would suit people with some previous winter climbing experience, but not to a high grade for example Scottish grade II and III would set you up well for the introductory course. For our improver course having some ice climbing experience is vital for example having completed an introductory ice fall climbing course or having experience of Scottish grade III and IV would be ideal.
