Winter in the mountains is a world away from summer, with virtually every dimension of the environment transformed, and both the risks and attractions arguably multiplied many times over. We offer a range of courses to help you make the transition from summer to winter conditions.

TRAIL Beginners Winter Munros Holiday - South East Highlands
Walk to some of the most exciting winter summits in Scotland along the way attain essential winter skills training to help you get there. You’ll learn how to calculate risk, make good decisions, plan winter walks, gain knowledge about mountains, learn to use equipment, learn to navigate and understand winter weather and avalanche avoidance, learn to use crampons and use an ice axe, but above all enjoy some great days out in the Scottish winter mountains with some of the top instructors and leaders in the UK.

Our walking holidays are geared towards visiting some of the 30 Munros within the local area and learn essential skills as you journey to the summits. North Perthshire hosts many summits and tops above 1000m and all within easy reach of our base in Aberfeldy.

To join this course - you don’t need any experience of winter mountains so, if stepping out for the first time or you already have some experience, this course is ideal for you.
