Learn and practise
the essential skills for Scotland’s winter mountains.
How’s your preparation? Can you calculate
risk? Is your equipment up to the task for the conditions?
Even the most experienced walkers need to stay well
practised when it comes to mountain safety.
This course will instruct and coach the following skills; use of
an ice axe, self arrest, crampon techniques and avalanche
awareness.
So, why do you need to know this?
If you lose your footing on the snow, ice axe arrest is designed
to stop you mid-slide. Do you know when to put crampons
on and when or if a slope might avalanche?
Our coaching of essential skills will help you to enjoy the splendour of the
Scottish mountains confidently and
independently.

Dear Tiso and
Stuart,
Just wanted to let you know, we
had a brilliant winter skills course
from point of booking to kit
advice to the day on the hill.
Our instructor Kirk was dynamic
and inspirational, a first
class coach. I can’t stop thinking
about doing more, many thanks until next time.
